ONE of the world's largest media groups, Bertelsmann, is preparing for a flotation that could see the owner of Channel Five and book publisher Random House valued at more than e20 billion (Pounds 13.7 billion), writes Nick Goodway.

The German group, privately controlled by the Mohn family - which will retain its 75% stake - has been forced into an initial public offering by 25% investor, Belgian holding firm Groupe Bruxelles Lambert.
