CHARLIE MAYFIELD, who celebrates his 40th birthday on Christmas Day, has been confirmed as the next chairman of department stores giant John Lewis Partnership, as was exclusively revealed by the Evening Standard three months ago.
Mayfield will take over in March from Sir Stuart Hampson, who turns 60 next month. Hampson told staff growing speculation about his retirement plans had proved an "unwelcome distraction for our business". Mayfield was made managing director only two years ago but has been on the board for five years.See the full content of this document
