KEVIN Maxwell, son of the late disgraced tycoon Robert Maxwell, has seen his unsuccessful UK business dealings take a turn for the worse and has applied for two more of his companies to be dissolved, writes Jim Armitage.

Maxwell, who was this week bailed out by a mystery benefactor over payments due on his Pounds 2.3 million Oxfordshire home, set up Alitan and Quoteranger Services only a year ago. But Companies House records show neither has ever filed financial accounts. Their formal striking off from the register is due shortly.
