THEY may earn less than their city counterparts, but Manawatu district councillors are happy with their rate of remuneration.

Pay rates for mayors and the pool from which councillors around the country are paid have just been announced by the Remuneration Authority, and Manawatu district councillors are set to earn almost $10,000 less than their counterparts at Palmerston North City Council.
