LEADER OF the House Jack Straw has been tipped as a possible Chancellor in a Gordon Brown Government but, with House of Lords reform on the agenda, he is also seen by lawyers as the ideal replacement for Lord Falconer as Lord Chancellor. As a former flatmate and mucker of Tony Blair, Falconer is surplus to requirements when Gordon Brown moves into Number 10.
