THE future of the online gambling industry in the US was looking a little brighter yesterday after receiving support from an unexpected quarter.

Fears of a ban on internet betting in the land of the free has overshadowed the industry for sometime, but now the all-powerful American Gaming Association has changed tack on the subject. Broker Numis Securities says instead of seeking an all-out ban it seems the AGA now wants a Congressional study to examine the regulation and taxation aspect of the online gaming industry.
