THE Sun King returns. Just two months after admitting he lied to the High Court about the circumstances in which he met his former lover Jeff Chevalier Lord Browne is being welcomed back in from the cold by Gordon Brown.

Downing Street announced today the former BP chief executive has been appointed a Tate trustee. Although the post is unpaid, the fact that it was announced in the Prime Minister's name will be seen as hugely significant.
