100 Years AgoJanuary 12, 1904 Yesterday morning Mr D Morris of Feilding, had a narrow escape from, a serious, if not fatal, accident. He was testing an old gun and after several charges had been fired, the weapon exploded, scattering fragments in all directions. One piece grazed Mr Morris forehead and then passed through the rim of a hard hat that he had been wearing at the time.
