AT THE busy junction outside Holborn Tube, people and vehicles used to get on pretty well until the slip lane for buses from High Holborn to Kingsway was closed in January for so-called safety reasons. Waterloobound buses now have to execute a 90-degree turn in the middle of the junction, blocking the flow in either direction. This part of London has come to a virtual standstill: the other day, in one 200-yard stretch of road, I counted 38 buses queuing to cross the junction, most of them empty.See the full content of this document
