James McAvoy is superb as Dr Garrigan, first seduced by the dictator's power and charm but gradually coming to realise just what he has been blithely countenancing. And Forest Whitaker, as the magnetic yet murderous dictator, is stupendous. See it.
THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS 12A, 117 minutes, Dir: Gabriele Muccino POOR Will Smith - first his harried wife Thandie Newton leaves, then he gets jailed the night before an interview for a stockbroking internship, then he finds out the internship is unpaid. And so it goes on, with only his little boy, played superbly by Smith's own son, for light relief.
