Summary

SOUTH KENSINGTON: Thomas Hope, the designer who established the Regency style in England, is being honoured with an exhibition. On Friday, the Victoria and Albert Museum will open the display which will include scores of Hope's designs and also recreate two rooms from his house in Duchess Street, off Portland Place.

Curator Frances Collard said: "People think of the Regency style as being tasteful and wishy-washy but what he was advocating were strong colour combinations." FOR MORE INFO www. vam. ac. uk
