BARRISTER Geoffrey Still is selling his Pounds 850,000 Winchester town house through Georgian Property. The Grade II listed, three- bedroom house, which overlooks the cathedral, was built in 1724 and was a wreck when Still acquired it, with a central crack, dry rot and modern plasterboard walls destroying its Georgian symmetry.
Restoration cost Pounds 250,000 and included specially designed panelled cupboards. "It all looks as if it was done in 1724," says Still. He first put the house with a local agent. "But", he maintains, "they had absolutely no clue about its history or appreciation of what I'd done."
