TAKING valuable newspaper space, theformer England cricket coach David Lloyd, who was barely less successful in that role than his namesake was coaching the Davis Cup team, considers a player overlooked for the vicecaptaincy of Pakistan in favour of suspected banned substance user Mohammad Asif.

"There was another candidate, Shahid Afridi, the arch-pitch scuffer from England's last tour there. Putting one of these two in charge," he goes on, stretching expertly for the witless cliche, "is like putting King Herod in charge of babysitting".
