YOU note that Libya is receiving a series of "rewards" for Colonel Gadaffy's moves on the weapons issue (Visit is first by a British leader since Churchill, 26 March). However, in seeking to reward Gadaffy for turning away from terrorism and weapons of mass destruction, Mr Blair must not allow British weapons to become part of the terror and destruction that Gadaffy continues to spread across his own continent.
Indeed, Libya is one of Africa's biggest arms dealers. Human- rights violations, war and UN embargoes appear to be no bar to sales. In some of the most bloody wars in Africa, Libyan weapons have fanned the flames and stoked the conflict.See the full content of this document
