TONY Blair is devoting his last weeks in power to improving his image as a world statesman. No doubt he fears that he will be remembered for the catastrophe in Iraq and little else.
The final farewell tour comes to an end on Wednesday 26 June a long awaited date but perhaps just a few days too soon. For on Sunday 1 July, one of the real achievements of his government comes into effect: the ban on smoking in workplaces and public places.
