We examined applications in Kensington and Chelsea, an overwhelmingly residential area, albeit one known for its busy night life.
Most of the 189 applicants have sought - and been granted - an extra hour or two in which to serve alcohol at nights, particularly at weekends.But some have been rejected or had requests for longer hours pegged back.Applicants include some of the most famous names in London, such as Marco Pierre White and Frankie Dettori's Knightsbridge restaurant Frankie's, which has applied for an extra hour until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
