THE Lady Magazine may have dragged itself into the 21st Century with its colour relaunch last week but sadly many of the staff are stuck way back in time. For 124 years, The Lady has been the only institution where staff have been given a freshly laundered hand towel every morning and the general manager and editor were, at one time, given two.
The revamp extended to the offices, where the magazine has been based since 1891, and what better way to move forward than install brand new hi-speed Dyson Airblade hand dryers in all of the loos and remove the antiquated towel system. Sadly this caused untold confusion amongst the older members of staff -- some thought the hand dryer was a hairdryer, others were stumped.See the full content of this document
