DOES ANYONE care who is Labour's deputy leader? There were rows of empty seats at last night's hustings for the six deputy hopefuls, despite the boast by hosts the Fabian Society that it was a 900- seat sell-out. Still the evening at the Institute of Education did provide Hilary Benn with a last chance to find the three extra backers he needed for the 45 vote threshold to enter the contest.
