ED HARRIS POLICE in Kenya today claimed they had been ordered to shoot to kill to quell the violence that broke out after President Mwai Kibaki was controversially re-elected.
The death toll was rising after three days of rioting across the country, which came amid allegations that Mr Kibaki had stolen his re-election with fraud and vote rigging. Protesters armed with machetes and sticks fought running battles with police on the streets of several towns and cities.See the full content of this document
