SIMON JONES is to undergo surgery on his right ankle in a bid to be fit for England's post-Christmas visit to India.

But the absence of the Glamorgan bowler (above) from the forthcoming tour of Pakistan could open the door for another paceman to break into the Test team, according to chairman of selectors David Graveney.
