LONDON is hot, declared Richard Northcott, chairman of top-of- the-range bling jeweller Theo Fennell, today as he unveiled more than doubled profits of Pounds 1.6 million last year.
London is the in place with booming house prices, City bonuses and rich Russians and Middle Easterners, said Northcott. They want to spend on luxury, and our jewellery with its coloured stones and distinctive designs seems to be more popular than your plain old diamonds.New ranges in the past year include the Pounds 2000-plus Skulls collection, and Trellis with its Pounds 17,500 pendants. As well as celebrity customers such as the Beck-hams and Liz Hurley, the new rich in Moscow, Dubai and Hong Kong contributed to a 30% jump in sales to Pounds 25.4 million. Fennell plans to open a second store in Moscow and concessions in Bahrain and Kazakhstan. It is also closer to launching its first New York outlet.See the full content of this document
