SOME say poet Laureate Andrew Motion has been a bit of a fizzer since he was given the job in 1999, failing to capture the spirit of the new millennium.
Now that the post is held for 10 years only, and not for life, it's felt there is a need for someone who can write about royal and national events with more of a common touch. So who can step into the shoes once occupied by John Masefield and Cecil Day-Lewis?
