THE internet has overtaken Tesco to become Britain's most popular way to shop.

British consumers spent Pounds 46.6 billion online last year, up 54 per cent from Pounds 30.2billion in 2006. About Pounds 40 billion was spent at Tesco, the country's biggest supermarket chain.
