EVEN after six years of my involvement with One to One, the coincidence of how it came about still seems extraordinary - as though it was meant to be.

In my capacity as an official of the Church of England, I frequently visited South Africa and had become increasingly alarmed at how the government there was turning a blind eye to the massive problem of HIV and Aids. There appeared to be a deep denial of the problem right through the whole continent; there were so many women and children who were not getting treatment or any kind of help at all.
