THE long, hot summer days could be much cooler this year as plans for an ice venue were unveiled for the South Bank today.

The IceSpace will be built almost entirely of ice, with an ice bar and an ice rink. The venue, overlooking the Thames next to the Mayor's office just west of Tower Bridge, will feature art and cultural events and will be run from May until July.
