Summary
JULY: After the /and 1/terror attacks officers shoot and kill an innocent Brazilian, Jean Charles de Menezes. Sir Ian calls it a "tragedy" and apologises to his family. He is later accused, and cleared, of misleading the public about the shooting's circumstances. The Met is now on trial over the incident under health and safety laws.
