In Search of St Senan

On fine days the tip of the Aran Islands is visible out at sea, with a ruined tower sticking up like a finger on their nearest headland, and even in summer the ocean breakers look cold and grey.

The village, population 400 year-round (with a large influx of tourists in the summer) has not one, but two ruined castles within its small central core.
