THERE was plenty of exciting news from Starwood Hotels when I met with its "people" this week. First up is a new St Regis, in San Francisco, opening this June - as a new build with a clean and modern design, it's an exciting departure for the usually traditional brand.
Then there's the much-awaited Remede Spa due to open in the St Regis New York later this summer, and the first W resort opening next year, which will bring a cool nightlife scene to the sleepy sands of the Maldives. Several W hotels in Europe are also on the horizon, including one in Barcelona; and the 59-room chichi Convento do Espinheiro is due to open in a converted 15th-century Portuguese convent this July.See the full content of this document
