JOHN HIGGINS will allow himself one celebration glass of champagne today after holding his nerve in the face of a magnificent Mark Selby fightback to win his second snooker World Championship title in Sheffield.

Higgins went into the second day of the final with a 12-4 advantage, only for 23-year-old qualifier Selby to reduce the deficit to 14-13 in the best-of-the 35 frames showdown.
