SHOULD OUR Stakhanovite Prime Minister be alarmed? The Harry Potter books by Gordon Brown's friend JK Rowling are a sustained attack on Big Government. At least that's according to Benjamin Barton, an academic from Tennesee University, who has produced an analysis predicting Rowling will produce a generation of free market libertarians.

"Rowling presents a government, The Ministry of Magic, that is 100% bureaucracy," says Barton.
