Guide to the Tables ; London Secondary School League Tables

Summary

These tables show the performance of 14 - year-olds in state secondary schools who took National Curriculum tests in English, maths and science in May .

The first column shows whether the school is single sex or mixed; the second whether it selects pupils on grounds of academic ability (S) or not (N/S). The third column shows the number of candidates while the fourth, fifth and sixth columns show the percentage of pupils in each school who met or exceeded the Government's target score in each subject. These percentages are added together in the seventh column to give an aggregate result out of , on which schools in each borough are ranked. Where two or more schools have the same aggregate, the school with the largest number of pupils is placed first. The Government's "value added" measure is shown in the final column. This measures pupils' achievement at age 14 against what would be expected, given their test scores at age 11.
