DANCE IN London is enjoying a heyday. Shows by the world's top performers sell out in hours and there has never been such a variety of classes on offer. Sportswear companies Adidas and Nike are employing fashion designers including Stella McCartney to develop lines of dancewear. And now the Government plans to create six inner- city dance schools for children.

But devotees have long known the health benefits physical and emotional of dancing as a form of exercise.
