THE LOANS scandal has prompted panic moves in Downing Street. On Friday, the day it emerged that Labour had obtained Pounds 14 million in secret loans, the BBC's environment correspondent, Sarah Mukherjee, was contacted by Downing Street out of the blue and offered an exclusive interview with the Prime Minister on his green policies.
She hotfooted it with film crew in tow to catch a train to Sedgefield so that she could meet Tony Blair and interview him on the train journey back to London.
