GOOGLE, the internet giant which owns YouTube, was today criticised by MPs for allowing offensive material on to the site.

Kent Walker, general counsel for Google, admitted to a Department for Culture, Media and Sport committee into harmful content on the internet that the company did not employ a single person to pre- screen and filter user-generated videos.
