Katie now rocks, too KATIE MELUA, WEMBLEY ARENA HA9 THIS concert was quite a revelation. In fact, I had seen Katie Melua in two concerts before, in 2004 and 2005, both of which I liked. But here at Wembley she seemed to be singing with a newfound freedom and energy - sometimes really belting the songs out - not what I had heard before (and a million miles away from any idea of a Norah Jones soundalike). Backed by a four-piece brass section, she rocked!
But the quiet numbers were great, too. Just singing along to her guitar she was in fine voice, expressive but not overwhelming the songs. The way in which she held the audience's attention with a series of enchanting ballads at the start of the evening was just as impressive as the louder stuff that followed.See the full content of this document
