Valentine's Day at Circus (above) in Soho came this week with a bit of morbid realism. 'We invented a pair of cocktails called Romeo and Juliet,' explains a member of staff. 'They both have lethal doses of vanilla vodka and are flecked with gold. Perfect for a couple who share passionate love but have a sneaky suspicion it may all end tragically.' Food Spy hears news of Gordon Ramsay's (above right) latest ambition. 'He wants to open a restaurant in Paris, where he spent his formative years training under legends such as Guy Savoy,' says a leading London restaurateur. 'He's been hitting the phones trying to find a head chef, but so far without getting who he wants.' Ramsay Holdings should brace itself for CVs from those brave enough to take the plunge.
