Flu Drug Orders Go to Glaxo and Roche ; Health [Edition 3]

THE Government today ordered drugs by GlaxoSmithKline and Roche as it doubled its stockpile of anti-flu pandemic medicines.

Britain's Glaxo, the world's second-largest pharmaceutical company, is supplying 10.6 million courses of Relenza, its anti-flu treatment, while Swiss firm Roche is providing a further 7.4 million doses of Tamiflu. The drugs will be ready by April, giving the Department of Health enough treatment for half of all Britons.
