MY distinguished predecessor here as literary editor, AN Wilson, has been the victim of a malicious hoax. He was duped into printing a fake love letter in his new biography of John Betjeman.
Ostensibly written by Betjeman in 1944, it is indisputably a forgery - for the capital letters at the start of each line spell out the unequivocal message: "AN Wilson is a shit."See the full content of this document
