PRESIDENT George W Bush has begun reshaping his economic team for his second term in the White House, accepting the resignation of Commerce Secretary Don Evans, writes Jake Lloyd-Smith.

Evans, who had told aides he was set for a change, quit late yesterday - as had been expected - together with Attorney General John Ashcroft. Both had been in the Cabinet since 2000.
