ESTHER Rantzen says she had a positive response when she visited Luton at the weekend to see whether voters wanted her to stand as an independent candidate at the general election, following Labour MP Margaret Moran's decision to stand down because of the expenses row. Her walkabout resulted in one marriage proposal and even some support from Boris. She promises to decide "within days, not weeks".
