SOUNDING OFF AS THE tidal wave of tiresome Eighties nostalgia washes over us in a blur of deelyboppers and Kajagoogoo haircuts, one highly significant aspect of that maligned decade seems to have been forgotten: that the Eighties were much better for music than the vastly overrated Sixties.
Sure, your dad will be spluttering about The Beatles this and The Rolling Stones that and wondering what Boy George ever did for music. He might even point to the recent hugely successful Stones tour as proof of the supremacy of the Sixties.
