MEDIA giant Walt Disney's board is understood to have given the go-ahead to chief executive Robert Iger, pictured, to make an offer to buy Pixar Animation Studios today. The deal will shake up the world of digital animation, a field Disney was slow to enter and has never really commanded in the way Pixar, maker of Toy Story and Finding Nemo, has. The proposed deal is also a triumph for Iger.
Talks between Pixar's Steve Jobs and former Disney chief Michael Eisner about extending the existing distribution deal faltered in Eisner's last year.See the full content of this document
