HIGH STREET sales have been hit by Britain's astonishing generosity in the wake of the Asian tsunami disaster.
Department stores chain John Lewis said its sales have fallen by one per cent over the past five weeks, and believes many of its competitors are faring even worse. It was the latest big name to warn that it had suffered falling sales - but the first to blame the more than Pounds 300 million donated by Britons to the disaster appeal.See the full content of this document
