MATT DAWSON has backed Sir Clive Woodward's wide-ranging attack on the Rugby Football Union but claims England "do not have a prayer" of defending the World Cup next year.

Woodward was in charge when England won the trophy in 2003 but the former head coach now believes that victory only helped to mask the serious problems that have conspired to cost his successor Andy Robinson his job and leave the national team with a dismal record of eight defeats from their last nine matches.
