Building up Balls GORDON BROWN may be against a referendum on the European Treaty but they're not so stuffy at Lord's. Members of MCC, the custodians of cricket in St John's Wood, are furious about a plan to make them pay to watch matches from the Pavilion and many of them intend to vote against it.
Now a special general meeting has been called in a fortnight, on 20 September, in the sacred Long Room at Lord's so that members, who include Sir Tim Rice, Lord (Robert) Fellowes, Sir John Major and Henry Blofeld, can make their views known.See the full content of this document
