FORMER Credit Suisse star technology banker Frank Quattrone could be in for a massive payday now the US legal system has finally decided he cannot be prosecuted again for his role in the "hot" IPOs of the late 1990s.
Quattrone, 51, was paid as much as $160 million a year at the height of his powers, and is reportedly due anything from $100 million to $550 million in pay that was suspended when prosecutors moved against him in 2003. The first trial ended in a hung jury. The second found him guilty but was overturned on appeal. Now after last year's deferred prosecution deal, which effectively placed him on a good behaviour order for 12 months, Quattrone has received a "nolle prosequi" (Latin for "unwilling to pursue") order from a district judge.See the full content of this document
