SEVEN international artists who use craft to transform everyday subjects and materials into extraordinary works will be the first to appear when the VA opens its newly refurbished contemporary space next week.
The Porter Gallery, designed by Block Architects, consists of a lightweight cube of carbon-fibre sheeting that sits inside the original gallery creating an exhibition space within the original 1909 architecture by Aston Webb. To ensure minimal interference with the building, the gallery roof is suspended from the original ceiling by 3,366 individual steel wires.See the full content of this document
