Summary
IN the Manawatu Standard (September 18-19), I read with some misgivings the questions and list of acceptable answers posed to mayoral and city council candidates for the City of Palmerston North by this newspaper.
My impression was that the media were supposed to report news and events, rather than try to make the news, as seems to be the case in this situation. What criteria were used to determine the questions? Were they chosen by the editor and his staff? Why were the answers to be limited to "Yes", "No", or "No comment"?See the full content of this document
