I BELIEVE Palmerston North City Council chief executive Paul Wylie's letters to John Bent about behaviour in the council chamber are both unwelcome and unwarranted (October 13).

I don't believe Mr Wylie has the authority to ban the public from the council meetings. I was about to get up and protest myself, Mr Bent just beat me to it. While the staff member was talking to the reporter for some time, it was impossible for the reporter to follow council proceedings.
