A FUNDING crisis for a prisoner's aid organisation has sparked an added urgency to its call for volunteers.

The Manawatu Prisoners' Aid and Rehabilitation Society (Pars) runs a volunteer recruitment campaign each year, and field officer Audrey Lang said the situation is especially serious this year.
